Poisoned Blade Action

Poisoned Blade is one of the worst cards in Hearthstone, and candidate for the worst card of TGT. Besides having use in a fun deck with Sideshow Spelleater, the card is not doing much now.

In an arena run last night, I was offered Poisoned Blade for Pick #1 and Pick #30. I was not taking over a Fel Reaver in Pick #1. As the draft went on, I started to develop a deck with weapon synergy. Pick #30 afforded me to pick Poisoned Blade over 2 equally bad cards. And so it was.

The worst card of TGT.

The Poisoned Blade was milled in game 1 (aka Millfest 2015), did not show up in game 2, was useless in game 3, but finally did something in game 4.

After using Elemental Destruction (eSports!) to clear a board, I equipped Poisoned Blade. I used it to hit a minion once, but then let it charge. I had real card advantage over my opponent who didn’t have much after the Elemental Destruction. I charged up the Poisoned Blade to 3 and 4 damage and went face there.

Frozen, check. Overloaded 5, check. Mana cost increased, check.

Poisoned blade glory.

So maybe the only use of Poisoned Blade in the arena is a topdeck situation, where you can afford to use mana to lace up the blade. And where your opponent is down on cards. Yep, still pretty bad.
